Booking a Tattoo
Where do you work?
I work at Maddock Ink, in Muskoka, Ontario. Maddock is a reputable studio known for it’s high quality of work, clean and professional environment, and client satisfaction. The shop is located at 13A Taylor Road in Bracebridge, right next to Big River Baking Co. There is plenty of unassigned parking around the right side of the building.
What styles do you work in?
I’m comfortable working in most styles, but my favourites are black and grey illustration, fine line, Celtic, and medieval woodcut
How do I book a tattoo with you?
The easiest way to book with me is to fill out my online booking form, or you can also email me at L.s.foxton@protonmail.com. Include a description of your design idea, the size and placement, and pictures of the area if we will be working around other tattoos or scars. You can also attach a couple of reference images if you have them.
How does the design process work?
For small and medium designs I generally start drawing 1-2 days before the appointment, for larger pieces I may start up to a week in advance. Because of the volume of drawings I have to produce each week, I am not able to provide drawings in advance of the appointment, and I do not start drawing a design until a deposit is made. However, you’re welcome to make reasonable changes to the design at the time of the appointment. There is no extra cost for drawing custom work, in fact I prefer it! You will only be charged for the time spent applying the tattoo.
What are your rates?
My current rate for custom work is is $150/hour plus HST, this is also my minimum. Some flash designs may be priced by the piece.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Make sure you are well-rested, eat a full meal and stay hydrated. Avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours before. If you would like you can take 1 extra strength Tylenol and 1 extra strength Advil before your appointment. Bring snacks, water, and your driver’s license or photo card. You can bring headphones if you prefer a silent appointment (I am chatty), and you can bring one friend to accompany you if you like. Do not apply numbing cream before your appointment unless this has been specifically discussed.
